Terms of use
The agreement between you and Jelks Consulting for using AutoGuide AI. In effect 12 October 2026.
The short version: AutoGuide helps you understand and keep track of your own vehicle. It is not a mechanic, it never tells you a vehicle is safe to drive, and it never invents a specification. What you record is yours and you can take it with you or delete it. Use your judgement, and use a professional for anything that affects whether the vehicle stops, steers or protects you.
Agreeing to these terms
By creating an account or using AutoGuide AI you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the application. You must be old enough to enter an agreement where you live, and at least 13 in any case. If you use AutoGuide for a business, you confirm you can agree on its behalf.
What AutoGuide is
- A place to keep your own vehicle records: reminders, service history, costs, documents, fill-ups, warranties and specifications you copied from your own vehicle or paperwork.
- General automotive guidance — procedures written for how vehicles work in general, with steps that drop out when they cannot apply to your drivetrain, and with your own recorded figures filled in where you have recorded them.
- A structured way to work through a symptom, a warning light or a fault code, and to record what you observed.
- A lookup against public data: VIN decoding and recall campaigns from the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
What AutoGuide is not
- Not a mechanic, and not an inspection.
- Nothing here is a professional diagnosis. AutoGuide cannot see, hear, lift or test your vehicle, and a list of possible causes is not a finding of what is wrong with yours.
- Never a statement that your vehicle is safe to drive.
- AutoGuide will not tell you a vehicle is safe, roadworthy or fine to keep driving — not in a guide, not in the assistant, not anywhere. That judgement needs a qualified person with the vehicle in front of them. If you are unsure, do not drive it.
- Not a source of vehicle specifications.
- AutoGuide does not supply torque figures, fluid grades or capacities, pressures, clearances, part numbers or service intervals for your vehicle, and it will not estimate one. Figures shown are ones you recorded yourself, labelled with where you read them, or ones read from a manual page you uploaded and confirmed line by line. Always verify against the manufacturer’s own information for your exact vehicle.
- Not a warranty or insurance decision.
- Coverage information is what you recorded from your own paperwork. Whether a repair is actually covered is decided by your provider, not by this app.
- Not a vehicle history report.
- A pre-purchase checklist records your own observations. It does not reveal title status, accident history, odometer fraud or mechanical condition, and it is not a substitute for an independent inspection on a lift.
- Not a complete recall record.
- Recall campaigns come from NHTSA by model year. They are not confirmation that a specific vehicle is affected or that a remedy has been performed — your dealer confirms that by VIN.
What the app will and will not answer is published in full on the provenance page.
Doing the work yourself
- You decide whether to do any work yourself, and you accept the risk of doing so. Vehicle work involves real hazards — among them weight, heat, pressure, fuel, high voltage on electrified vehicles, and stored energy in airbag and suspension systems.
- Follow the manufacturer’s own procedure for your vehicle, use proper support and protective equipment, and stop if a step does not match what is in front of you.
- If a guide and your vehicle disagree, your vehicle and its manufacturer’s information win. Stop and get help rather than forcing a step.
- For anything that affects braking, steering, restraints, fuel or high-voltage systems, use a qualified professional.
Your records, your content
- Your records are yours. You keep ownership of everything you enter and upload. You give us only the permission needed to store it, show it back to you, and run the features you ask for.
- You confirm you have the right to upload what you upload — your own registration, insurance, receipts, manual pages and photographs — and that you are not uploading someone else’s personal documents without their agreement.
- You can export every list to CSV and produce your passport and dossier as PDF at any time, without asking us.
- You can delete any record yourself, and you can ask us to close the account and delete the rest.
How your information is handled, and who it is sent to, is set out in the privacy notice.
Using the app responsibly
- Keep your sign-in details to yourself. Activity under your account is treated as yours.
- Enter accurate information. Reminders, economy figures and coverage checks are computed from what you record — wrong mileage in means wrong answers out.
- Only invite someone to a vehicle if you are entitled to share that vehicle’s records with them.
- Do not scrape, bulk-download or resell the guide library, and do not pass the app off as your own service.
- Do not use the app to misrepresent a vehicle’s condition or service history to a buyer, insurer or anyone else.
- Do not upload anything unlawful, or try to break the access controls protecting other people’s garages.
Sharing a vehicle with someone
When you invite another driver, they can see that vehicle, what is due on it, open issues, recent service and your recorded specifications, and with contribute rights they can log a fill-up or report a symptom. Your ownership costs, your document vault and your assistant conversations are never shared by this feature. You are responsible for who you invite, and you can end their access at any time, which takes effect immediately.
Third-party information
VIN decoding and recall campaigns come from NHTSA, a U.S. government service; assistant answers are produced by a language model through our platform provider. We pass their information on as received and cannot guarantee it is complete, current or correct for your vehicle. Outages in those services will stop those specific features from working.
Availability, changes and price
We may change, add or remove features, and we may suspend the service for maintenance. We will tell you before making a change that takes away something you rely on. AutoGuide is free to use today; if that changes we will say so clearly in advance, and nothing you have already recorded will be held back from you — your exports keep working.
Ending it
You can stop using AutoGuide at any time and ask us to close your account. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, puts other people’s data at risk, or is used to break the law. If we close your account other than for those reasons, we will give you a reasonable chance to export your records first.
No warranty
AutoGuide is provided as it is, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or accuracy of information. We do not warrant that the guidance fits your vehicle, that the application will be uninterrupted, or that it is free of error. Some jurisdictions do not allow these exclusions, in which case they apply only as far as the law permits.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Jelks Consulting is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, vehicle damage, repair costs, towing, injury or any other loss arising from your use of the application or from work you chose to do or not to do. Our total liability for any claim relating to the application is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for it in the twelve months before the claim, or one hundred U.S. dollars. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Your part of the risk
You are responsible for deciding whether to drive, repair, or continue using a vehicle, and for getting qualified help when you need it. By using AutoGuide you accept that responsibility, and you agree to cover claims brought against us because of work you carried out, information you recorded, or records you shared with someone else.
Law, and changes to these terms
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and the courts located there will hear any dispute. If any part of these terms is unenforceable, the rest still stands. We may update these terms; if a change matters we will bring it to your attention in the application, and the date at the top will change. Continuing to use AutoGuide after that means you accept the updated terms.
